Honorary Title of "Kapitang Maran Hee Lau Siwalima" is given by the Regional Government of Maluku Province and its society to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries last week. This honorary title is has ever given to the armed resistance against colonization, Thomas Matulessy or known as Captain Pattimura. This title was given to Freddy Numberi because that figure is seen as striving figure to promote development, prosperity and justice for Maluku society in particular, and the world's marine and fisheries in general. Indonesian government requested to implement immediately the Law No.27 year 2007 on the Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands, thus the rights of indigenous peoples can be protected. That is one of the meaning of the Declaration agreed by all participants of National Congress of National Indigenous People Alliance (Rakernas AMAN) in Kasepuhan Sinar Resmi, Sinar Resmi village, Sukabumi, West Java a moment ago. Because of the location, the declaration is known as "Sinar Resmi Declaration." Indeed, in the Law No.27/2007 in article 17 that The Rights of Coastal Management (HP-3) must be considering the interests of ecosystems preservation, and indigenous peoples, as well as national interests and rights for cross-peace foreign ships. As part of the series of Sail Bunaken 2009, Indonesian army (TNI AL) and Bitung City Government held Fun Games this morning which was attended by delegates from Philippines and Thailand navy. The event is held at Sari Cakalang field Bitung City was greeted enthusiastically by hundreds of people from Bitung, Tomohon, and surrounding areas. In this event held special independence day competitions such as sack race and tug of war between Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) represented by KRI Dewa Ruci crew member, the Philippines Navy, Thailland and government agencies both civilian and Armed Forces and Police of Bitung city, Tomohon, and North Minahasa district. At least 1200 people from various regions visit foreign warships docked in KPPP harbour, Bitung city, North Sulawesi, which will follow the pass sailing events in the Gulf waters of Manado. Based on existing data on Indonesia Navy (TNI AL) security post on Bitung harbour, the enthusiasm of people are seen since they are given an opportunity to see into the vessel (open ship) warships from various countries at the opening of Sail Bunaken. A total of 6 foreign warships from United Kingdom, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia are welcome to ride by public. Public enthusiasm for entering the HMS Echo war ship of England appear larger than other ships considering that ship is the largest ships currently rely on Bitung harbour. [more...]
