Force Fresh Tuna Export to Japan
The Minister of MMAF, H.E Fadel Muhammad stated that MMAF is negotiating with Japanase goverment to reduce tax tariff of fresh tuna and canned tuna into Japan, when released tuna export to Japan in Padang, west Sumatera,March 3rd,2010
H.E Fadel Muhammad conveyed that from the data, at this time, export value of Indonesian fisheries product to productive market (US, Japan,UE) achieve 70% and 22% in prospective market (Southeast Asia and East Asia) and 8% in potential market (Middle East, Africa and eks East Eropa). MMAF diversified the fisheries export in Middle East and africa because the export value is low.
The effort to realized MMAf vision and mission, MMAF assign to force the fisheries product export. This is related on the ability to increase fisheries production, either from aquaculture and upstream fishing industry and the development of processing and marketing in the downstream industry.
Bungus ocean port, west sumatera is one of port which exports tuna and Japan is one of the destination as well as United States. Bungus ocean port is close with fishing ground so this giving benefit for Indonesia to cut the operational fee and keeping the fish fresh.
During the visits to Padang, The Minister of MMAF, H.E Fadel Muhammad will inaugurate Tuna Processing in Bungus ocean port, observing to Milkfish pond and Minapolitan area at Carocok.
