Fisheries Export Increase in Quarter I 2010


Export commodity of fisheries product in quarter I on 2010 increase as many 3, 26 thousand ton or 3.7% compare with in same period in 2009. According to Secretary General of MMAF, H.E M. Syamsul Ma’arif that the increment dominated by fresh fish product either capture fisheries or aquaculture. Overall, trade value of fisheries product commodity obtained USD 621.8 million or increase 7.09% than first quarter in same period of last year. Syamsul Ma’arif declare that biggest increment from grease and cod which increase up to 300% from 2, 26 thousand kilogram became 69,38 thousand kilograms.  Although mostly export value increase, but there are commodities decreased in grade such as fresh shrimp, frozen shrimp, canned shrimp, fresh tuna, frozen skipjack tuna, canned crab, frog thigh, limpet/snail, and other fisheries products. But this is not influence export balance. State for export destination, Japan still become the Indonesia main market with great volume escalation and grade than other state. In Africa c, the high rank is Ghana with escalation as many 8.27% for the volume and 105% for the grade. In Australia, the high rank is New Zealand, and Chile in America and also United Kingdom as the largest destination in Europe.
