17 Countries Participate on Sail Banda
As many 108 participant from 17 countries positively participate on Sail Banda 2010. Its plan on Saturday the Minister of Marine Affairs, H.E Fadel Muhammad released all of participant at Darwin Australia. Yesterday the committee makes last preparation included preparing 2 surveillance vessels Hiu Macan Tutul Ol and KRI Hiu Macan 006 at Darwin. Both ship escorted the participants with sailing vessel type Yacht from Darwin to Banda Island, Central Moluccas. Kompas Journalist reported that Secretary of Directorate General of Marine Resources Surveillance, H.E Anzhori Zawawi stated that from 108 participants, 62 of it are going into Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. They will transit at Alor, Lembata, Maumere, Ende, NGada, Labuan Bajo, sabu Raijua, Rote Ndao, East sumba, and southwest Sumba.
Other 46 participants will go into Banda and follows Yacht rally. The journey of yacht rally participant will end at Ambon gulf, Moluccas. It plans, they will follow the parade to enliven the Sail Banda when the President accomplish Moluccas planning as national fish bank.
Sail Banda takes two main location at Moluccas province that is Ambon and Banda island public participation in enliven the event very expected to give positive impact for the economy and maritime culture existence of local community.
The chief of Kampong adat Ratu Naira Awad Senen stated that seven Kampong Adat in banda prepare to hold a ritual to make sirih places to have permition from the ancestor and Buka Puang as the main condition before cakalele dance shows.
